Position: Attendance Officer with Safeguarding and Pastoral Responsibilities
Location: Brierley Hill

The Black Country Federation is seeking an Attendance Officer with safeguarding and pastoral responsibilities to join our partnership of schools. This role is based in Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council, Black Country Federation, Brockmoor Primary School.

Position Details
:
Salary Grade 7, Contract 39 weeks.

About the Role

Operate as the main attendance officer across our partnership, ensuring high levels of attendance, promoting safeguarding and pastoral care, and working collaboratively with school leaders and the wider safeguarding/pastoral teams.

Main Duties
  • Monitor all students’ attendance daily and take relevant actions to raise and highlight levels of attendance across the year groups.
  • Maintain friendly, supportive and professional contact with pupils, parents, staff, stakeholders and external agencies, handling complex queries and potential conflict situations well.
  • Collaborate closely with school leaders and the safeguarding/pastoral teams in both schools to provide consistent support to all pupils and respond appropriately to individual needs.

  • Experience of working with children in an educational setting.

  • Eligible for medical clearance and an enhanced DBS check under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
  • Has the right to work in the UK; sponsorship is not offered.
