SEN Teaching Assistant

Overview

Teacher Active is proud to be working with primary schools in Stourbridge that support vulnerable children with Special Needs ranging from Severe Learning Difficulties to Challenging Behaviour, Global Developmental Delay and Autism.

The schools focus on developing desirable behaviour and skills to promote independence after school, building strong relationships between teacher and student to support learning and development.

As a SEND Teaching Assistant you will help prepare learning material for the class and frequently carry out 1:1 and group learning support for students with additional needs. You will look after their physical, social and mental welfare by creating a safe environment and adapting your teaching support according to each student’s needs.

The schools offer day-to-day, short-term, and long-term placements to fit your availability.

• Level 3 qualified and/or a minimum of 6 months’ experience in an educational establishment
• A calm, patient and caring persona
• Child and Adult DBS - on the Update Service
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in supporting students in 1:1 and small group settings

All staff are paid on a PAYE basis, ensuring correct Tax and National Insurance and avoiding administrative charges.
