Teaching Assistant

We're looking for a passionate and caring Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team, supporting students with additional needs to overcome challenges, build confidence, and thrive in education. This is far more than a classroom support role. You'll become a trusted adult and positive role model, helping students develop academically, socially, and emotionally.

• Supporting students with their learning, emotional wellbeing, communication, and personal development.
• Building positive relationships that help students feel safe, valued, and ready to learn.
• Working closely with teachers to deliver engaging learning experiences and promote student progress.
• Delivering targeted interventions that develop confidence, independence, and life skills.
• Collaborating with families and external professionals to provide holistic support for students.
• Promoting a positive, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every student can thrive.
• GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade 4/C or above) or equivalent.
• Experience supporting students in a SEND or specialist education setting.
• Patient, resilient, empathetic, and adaptable to individual student needs.
• Confident supporting students with communication, learning, social, emotional, or behavioural needs.
• Able to remain calm, consistent, and positive when managing challenging situations.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
• Organised, reliable, and committed to achieving the best outcomes for students.
• Passionate about making a meaningful difference and committed to ongoing professional development.
• Opened in 2018, The Wenlock School is a co-educational day school for students aged 7-18 with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, autism, and associated learning differences.
