This is a key hire into a growing international service function, offering genuine exposure to complex machinery, global travel, and long term career development within a highly respected, people first engineering organisation.
What You’ll DoReporting to the Director of Operations, you’ll take ownership of field installation, commissioning, testing, and servicing of advanced automation systems. Day to day responsibilities will include:
- Installing, commissioning, testing, and debugging bespoke machines at customer sites.
- Fault finding and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Programming, modifying, and supporting PLC controlled systems (Siemens S7 1200 / S7 1500 and Allen Bradley Control Logix).
- Diagnosing machine performance issues in collaboration with customer engineering teams.
- Delivering operator and maintenance training, ensuring safe and effective machine use.
You’ll also play a key role in continuous improvement initiatives, supporting machine upgrades, safety enhancements, and global service best practice as the business continues to expand.

Kingswinford, West Midlands (non remote). - Travel will typically be 30–50%, with short periods of higher international travel.
You’ll be an experienced hands on technician, comfortable working independently in customer environments and across international locations. Ideally, you’ll bring:
- Strong mechanical and electrical fault finding experience.
- Working knowledge of PLCs (Siemens preferred; Allen Bradley advantageous).
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and automation systems.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and engineering drawings.
- A professional, customer focused approach and strong communication skills.
- Experience with robotics, machine safety systems, and international field service is advantageous but not essential for the right technician with the right mindset.
