Interim Systems Accountant

Robert Walters are partnering with a client that has recently upgraded their ERP system to Net Suite and is now seeking a Systems Accountant to join their Finance team. This is a fantastic 4–6 month contract opportunity for a hands‑on professional, based in the Black Country. Due to the nature of the role, office presence is required 4–5 days per week.

As a Systems Accountant, you will act as the key link between IT and the finance team and will help process reports into Net Suite. This is a key role and will require someone who has extensive Net Suite knowledge and can provide support to both the finance and IT team.

• Leading on improvements and changes to the financial systems and acting as the key link between IT and Finance to resolve all significant financial systems issues
• Working with the Finance team to undertake process reviews with a view to improving efficiency through enhanced use of appropriate software solutions and improving system integration and interfaces across finance and other systems
• Developing robotic automation processes to improve efficiency by reducing as many manual processes as possible across all areas of finance by using Net Suite
• Ensuring projects run to time and budget while escalating any issues to the CFO
• Liaising with the operational teams to improve reporting times and help the finance goal of digitising more of their processes by using Net Suite

A large part of the role is to provide support to the business and transfer the correct data across to the system. To achieve this, you will be required to build relationships across the business which will enable projects to work smoothly and effectively. The successful individual will also provide user support and training to create a user‑friendly guide to be used by the finance team post implementation.

Although the client is looking for an ambitious Systems Accountant, there are a few key skills that are required for this role that will allow the successful individual to get the best out of this role.

• Experience in developing financial reports and working on projects to deliver system enhancements and changes
• Working with external parties for support and guidance while providing advice and systems guidance on a diverse range of financial systems to the internal teams
• Ability to produce clear documentation for user training purposes and manage multiple projects and deliver them on time
• Knowledge of Net Suite
• Ability to work with the Finance team to help them understand the functionality of the system and support them where needed
