Senior Accountant

Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our finance team in Dudley. This is a fantastic opportunity for a qualified, or final‑stage accountant to take a leading role in delivering high‑quality financial management, supporting strategic decision‑making, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

As a Senior Accountant, supporting the Communities and Growth group, you will manage the preparation and production of budgets and closure of accounts, produce accurate financial reports, grants, management accounts and ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards. You will work closely with senior stakeholders, providing insightful analysis to support business performance and the medium‑term financial strategy.

You will be self‑motivated and able to achieve strict and challenging deadlines and targets. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate complex financial concepts to non‑finance colleagues.

We are looking for someone who is fully qualified (e.g. CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA or ICAEW) or who is actively studying and in the final stages of qualification with considerable budgeting and accounting experience, relevant IT skills and experience of working closely with other teams.

On achievement of the full professional accountancy qualification, including completion of the relevant portfolio or practical experience requirements, evidence of work‑based competencies and successful completion of an internal interview, you will have the opportunity to progress to Principal Accountant (grade 11).

Working in the office 3+ days a week (pro‑rate) or onsite full time.
