An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Inpatient Acute Adults Mental Health Service for a band 5 Occupational Therapists within Black Country Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust - Dudley locality based at Bushey Fields Hospital.

We are however, committed to supporting staff development and therefore cross site working may be supported.

They will implement evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist interventions in addition to participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services.

Participate in therapy hub group programme utilizing a range of psycho educational interventions, such as anxiety management, distress tolerance and recovery focused groups that will feed into recovery focused care planning.

The post holder will have responsibility for a caseload of clients including those with complex needs and will need to provide Occupational Therapy assessment and treatment interventions to adults/older adults within a hospital setting.

We work alongside Nurses, Clinical Psychologists, Support Workers and other partners, both internal and external. As a Trust we are committed to increasing the quality and range of services we provide which are safe and supportive to services users, their carers and relatives.

The candidate will need to be flexible in service provision/cross site cover on different wards when required and support the team pan trust. We are as a trust moving towards a 7 day working.

Preceptorship Programme.

Regular Management Supervision, Clinical Supervision and Peer Support Sessions.

Regular Reflective Practice/journal club.

Opportunities to explore external training in relation to desired interests with a commitment to enhancing your professional development.

Commitment to support in the development of your clinical skills including knowledge/skills within mental health specific interventions and group work.

Other work related development opportunities.

They will implement evidence based/client centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate specialist interventions in addition to participate in the planning, development and evaluation of Occupational Therapy Services.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate robust OT clinical skills and knowledge of working mental health settings.

• BSc degree in Occupational Therapy
• HCPC registration
• Previous experience of working with mental health setting
• Understanding and application of the model of human occupation
