About the Role
We are recruiting an Alcohol Recovery Worker to join a community-based substance misuse service, supporting adults affected by alcohol misuse to achieve positive recovery outcomes. You will manage a caseload of approximately 40 service users, delivering structured, recovery-focused interventions in line with commissioning and service requirements.
This is a fast-paced, rewarding role suited to someone experienced in alcohol or substance misuse services who is confident managing a caseload and working in partnership with other agencies.
Key Responsibilities
* Manage a caseload of around 40 service users, delivering high-quality, person-centred alcohol interventions
* Complete comprehensive assessments, risk assessments, and recovery plans
* Deliver one-to-one psychosocial interventions, brief interventions, and relapse prevention work
* Promote harm reduction, safer drinking advice, and health interventions
* Support service users with wider needs including mental health, housing, safeguarding, and physical health
* Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners including healthcare, mental health services, housing, and safeguarding teams
* Maintain accurate and timely case recording using service systems
* Meet service outcomes, KPIs, and engagement targets
* Identify and respond appropriately to adult and child safeguarding concerns
About You
Essential:
* Experience working with individuals affected by alcohol misuse and/or substance misuse
* Confidence managing a high-volume caseload
* Strong understanding of recovery models, harm reduction, and safeguarding
* Excellent communication, engagement, and organisational skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
Desirable:
* Relevant qualification in health, social care, substance misuse, or equivalent experience
* Experience working within commissioned community drug and alcohol services
* Knowledge of motivational interviewing, trauma-informed practice, or CBT-informed approaches
