Position: Positive Behaviour Practitioner (Full-Time)

This is an exciting opportunity to apply your psychology background to directly impact the lives of vulnerable adults transitioning from long-term hospital care to independence. You will:

Main duties of the job
  • Complete functional behavioural assessments for individuals with behaviours that challenge
  • Develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans
  • Train and support staff in understanding and applying behavioural strategies
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to promote trauma-informed, least-restrictive practice
  • Provide clinical input to risk assessments, care plans, and crisis prevention strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate progress, adapting interventions where necessary
  • Support referral assessments and contribute to funding/clinical justifications

Job responsibilities
  • Complete functional behavioural assessments for individuals with behaviours that challenge
  • Develop and implement Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) plans
  • Train and support staff in understanding and applying behavioural strategies
  • Work alongside multidisciplinary teams to promote trauma-informed, least-restrictive practice
  • Provide clinical input to risk assessments, care plans, and crisis prevention strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate progress, adapting interventions where necessary
  • Support referral assessments and contribute to funding/clinical justifications
Person Specification Experience
  • 1. Working towards or holding a PBS qualification
  • 2. Experience in forensic settings or community mental health
Qualifications
  • 1. A recognised degree in Psychology (minimum 2:1)
  • 2. Experience working with individuals with autism, mental health needs, or learning disabilities
  • 3. A strong understanding of PBS and person-centred planning
  • 4. Excellent report writing and communication skills
  • 5. Ability to work independently and across multiple sites
  • 6. Driving licence and access to a vehicle (required)
