Job overviewAn exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Oncology team, supporting a busy Consultant and nursing team providing a high quality and specialist service to Oncology patients from Dudley and surrounding areas. We are seeking an experienced Medical Secretary to join this dynamic team, who is passionate about providing excellent secretarial services.
This post is 37.5 hours per week.
Main duties of the jobTo provide a comprehensive medical secretarial service to Consultants and supporting teams within designated speciality areas. To work collaboratively with other medical secretarial colleagues to ensure clinical correspondence is produced and distributed with acceptable timescales. The post holder will carry out the duties as defined in this job description in such a way as to make a direct and positive contribution to the organisation of the work.
It is essential that the post holder should exercise initiative commensurate with the role and that confidentiality be maintained at all times.

Person specification Experience- Achieved qualifications/ years of experience
- Previous experience as Medical Secretary
- Knowledge of NHS Administration procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Exhibits good organisational skills
- Proficient in use of Patient Administration System (Oasis)
- OCR/RSA II Typing or equivalent.
- GSCE or equivalent at Grade C or above in English Language
- AMSPAR Diploma
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Programmes including;
Outlook, Word & Excel - Business Administration NVQ Level 2 or equivalent experience in a clerical environment
