The ApprenticeshipOur Solicitor Apprenticeship offers an exciting route into the legal profession for students completing their Level 3 studies who want to start their career without the cost of university.
At Higgs LLP, we are proud to grow talent from within our community. As a Solicitor Apprentice, you will work alongside our people from day one, contributing to meaningful client work and developing the skills and confidence to build a long-term career in law.
Over six years, you will combine four days a week of practical work in a rotation of our legal teams with one dedicated study day to complete your Law degree (LLB) and prepare for the Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE).
Your academic learning will be delivered in conjunction with the University of Law, and you will be supported throughout by experienced mentors, supervisors and colleagues who are committed to your development.
This is a full-time, permanent role starting in September 2026.
Eligibility Requirements- Five GCSEs at grade 4 or above, including English and Maths
- 96 UCAS points (or equivalent Level 3 qualifications such as A-Levels, BTECs or T Levels)
These entry requirements reflect the SRA’s recommended academic standards, along with the eligibility requirements set out in the Government’s apprenticeship funding rules, which include some age-related provisions.
For full details on how apprenticeship funding and eligibility works, please see the ESFA Apprenticeship Funding Rules:
We welcome applications from all qualification routes, and we recognise that grades do not always tell the full story. If there are any mitigating circumstances that you would like us to be aware of, please include this in your application.
Above all, we are looking for people who share our CLEAR values:
Care, Legacy, Excellence, Authenticity and Relationships.
If you are currently studying, or have already completed, an undergraduate law degree or another higher-level legal qualification, this apprenticeship will not be the right pathway for you.
