A well-established and respected regional law firm in the West Midlands is seeking a skilled and dedicated Criminal Lawyer to join its busy Criminal Defence team based in Dudley. The firm has built an excellent reputation for providing expert legal representation and outstanding client service across a wide range of criminal law matters.

About You

You will be a qualified Solicitor with Duty Solicitor accreditation, confident in handling a broad and varied criminal defence caseload. Experience in police station representation, court advocacy and criminal litigation is essential.

Applicants should be proactive, organised and able to manage their own caseload effectively while working collaboratively within a team. A commitment to delivering high standards of legal advice and client service is key.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage a diverse caseload of criminal defence matters
• Represent clients at police stations and magistrates' courts
• Conduct advocacy at hearings, including bail applications, trials and case management proceedings
• Participate in the Duty Solicitor Rota, including out-of-hours and weekend work
• Provide clear, practical legal advice and support to clients at all stages of proceedings
• Work effectively both independently and as part of a dedicated legal team
