Salary: £36,660 per annum
Location:

Source Co are recruiting a Production Supervisor to oversee a CNC machining department within a long established UK manufacturing business specialising in bespoke, heavy duty engineered components.
This is a hands on supervisory role, suited to someone with a strong CNC machining background who enjoys problem solving, supporting operators, and taking ownership of complex, low volume work.
The Role:
You’ll be responsible for the day to day supervision of the CNC department, ensuring work is planned, sequenced, and delivered safely, efficiently, and to specification.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supervising and supporting CNC operators across turning and milling operations
* Reading and interpreting detailed technical drawings
* Planning machining centres, job sequences, and workflows
* Troubleshooting issues relating to parts, machines, tooling, and processes
* Acting as the technical go-to on the shop floor
* Working closely with management to resolve production challenges
* Maintaining high standards of quality, safety, and output
The work is bespoke, varied, and technically demanding — you’ll be expected to think on your feet and find solutions.
What We’re Looking For:
* Minimum 3 years’ technical machining experience (ideally apprentice-trained)
* Strong understanding of engineering drawings
* Experience working with lathes and milling machines
* Desired - Background in a bespoke or heavy engineering workshop (rather than high volume production environment)
* Confident communicator, able to support and guide operators
* Previous supervisory or team leading experience is preferred but not essential
Why Apply?
* Join a business with a strong reputation and long-term stability
* Varied, interesting work — no repetitive production runs
* Genuine autonomy (make independent, self directed decisions) and responsibility on the shop floor
* Permanent role with clear expectations and scope to make an impact
