Role Description The CNC Operator/Programmer/Setter role is a full-time, on-site position based in Dudley. In this role, the team member programs, sets up, and operates CNC machinery to produce precision components and tooling according to technical drawings and specifications. Daily responsibilities include selecting appropriate tools, setting machine parameters, running machining cycles, and monitoring operations to ensure accuracy and efficiency. The role involves inspecting finished parts, identifying and correcting deviations, and performing routine maintenance checks to keep equipment in optimal condition.
Collaboration with engineering and production colleagues to improve methods, optimize cycle times, and maintain high safety and quality standards is also an important part of this position.
Qualifications
- Experienced CAM programming and cutting of tooling, in such materials as Iron, Aluminium, Steel & Resin Board.
- Proficiency in Machining and Milling, with the ability to interpret technical drawings and work to tight tolerances.
- Experience with Machinery maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime.
- Solid Quality Control skills, including dimensional inspection, use of measuring tools, and documentation of results.
- Relevant vocational training or apprenticeship in machining, CNC operation, or a related field.
- Ability to work accurately, follow safety procedures, and manage time effectively in a workshop environment.
- Good communication skills and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across production and engineering.
- Previous experience in a toolmaking, pattern making, or precision manufacturing environment is an advantage.
