We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing business for an experienced Production Supervisor to provide operational cover during a period of absence.
This is a hands-on supervisory role overseeing production operations across several manufacturing areas, ensuring teams work safely and efficiently while meeting quality and production targets.
You will be responsible for supervising production operatives, coordinating workloads, maintaining high standards of housekeeping and health & safety, and working closely with other departments to keep production running smoothly.
The position is initially temporary on a TFC and may be extended depending on business requirements.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise production operatives across the company
- Schedule and coordinate work to ensure production targets are achieved
- Ensure all work is carried out safely in line with company policies, procedures and risk assessments
- Maintain high standards of 5S and factory housekeeping
- Organise and support training for production operatives
- Order and manage raw materials required for manufacturing
- Liaise with Maintenance, Quality and other production teams to resolve issues and maintain output
- Liaise with suppliers and contractors where required
- Monitor and record team attendance, timekeeping, sickness and absence
- Attend daily production meetings and site review meetings
- Participate in safety and leadership audits
- Support accident and incident investigations when required
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement across the production operation
- Take on additional responsibilities as required to support the wider business
We are looking for an experienced Production Supervisor, Team Leader or similar who has previously worked within a manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS- Previous supervisory or team leader experience within manufacturing
- Experience leading teams to achieve safety, quality and production targets
- Strong organisational and planning skills
- Good problem-solving and decision-making abilities
- A strong understanding of health & safety within a manufacturing environment
- A proactive approach to continuous improvement
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Able to lead by example and build a positive team culture
- Reliable, organised and able to prioritise effectively
- Experience with in refractory, ceramics, foundry or heavy manufacturing
- Experience using SAP or another ERP system
- Knowledge of 5S and continuous improvement principles
- Reliable, self-motivated and proactive
- Takes ownership and follows tasks through to completion

Hours:
Monday to Thursday, 6:00am - 2:00pm | Friday, 6:00am - 12:00pm
