Midwife Band 5

Are you a newly qualified midwife looking for a supportive unit to begin your midwifery career, or an experienced band 6 midwife, looking for a new challenge with a supportive team?

We are looking to appoint highly motivated band 5 and 6 midwives who have a passion and commitment to providing high quality, safe woman centred care for women and their families.

The Maternity Unit consists of Maternity Triage, Maternity Ward and Delivery Suite areas, with an alongside Midwifery Led Unit and community midwifery service. Midwives are supported to rotate between these areas to develop and maintain their full range of midwifery skills.

There will be the exciting opportunity to work within a continuity of care midwifery model in the very near future. We would encourage and welcome applications from newly qualified Midwives.

The Trust employs a supportive midwifery management team. We pride ourselves on having an extremely friendly team who welcome newcomers to our Trust.

Development and support of the workforce is important to us and all midwives are provided with a full range of mandatory training, including obstetric and neonatal skills drills. Learning beyond registration is encouraged and all midwives are supported to undertake the Mentoring course, Examination of the Newborn (NIPE) course and Leadership course. We are about to launch our highly anticipated new Maternity, electronic patient record also.
