Position: Maintenance- Housing Department (Temporary)
Connect 2 Dudley is seeking a skilled QR Operative to join Dudley Council

Responsibilities:

Carry out mobile reactive repairs across the borough at housing and corporate sites
Use skill and initiative to repair, replace components, or make situations safe
Complete all work to required skill standards with care and efficiency
Operate a Council vehicle; manage van stock and record materials via PDA
Undertake authorised repairs within agreed scope without further approval
Work independently or as part of a team; plan jobs, order materials, prioritise works, and complete documentation
Carry out reasonable tasks within skill and competency levels
Comply fully with Council policies and procedures
Communicate effectively with customers; provide home maintenance advice and arrange access
Safeguard Council vehicles, tools, equipment, and site safety (especially around children)
Be physically fit to work outdoors, at height, and attend health surveillance
Work in dirty, confined conditions and handle heavy objects safely
Accept flexible duties as part of workforce multi-skilling
Undertake regular training as required
Occasionally supervise work experience placements or mentor apprentices
Participate in the emergency out-of-hours repairs rota
Undertake any other duties appropriate to the role

THIS ROLE REQUIRES A BASIC DBS CHECK AND A VALID DRIVING LICENSE

This is an ongoing assignment providing a full 37 hour working week.
