This is an exciting and rewarding opportunity to step into a permanent Advanced Social Work Practitioner role in the award-winning Children with Disabilities Team. The Advanced Practitioner is pivotal in establishing consistently excellent social work practice in our teams and supports with professional development for the whole team through mentoring, group supervisions, and peer to peer discussions. You will work widely with our other Social Care teams in Dudley to share specialist knowledge and advice specific to services and support available for children with disabilities.

The successful candidate is also responsible for providing line management responsibility for our 4 Family Support Workers and supports the team with development of those undertaking an ASYE or student placement with the team, with oversight from the Team Manager. We are strengthening our commitment to children and young people with disabilities by embedding a relationship-based approach within our other Social Care teams, working collaboratively with them.

There will be exciting times ahead with opportunities to work much closely with our new Integrated Family Help service in safeguarding. We are seeking an experienced and inspirational Social Worker or existing Advanced Social Work Practitioner who want to make a difference for children with disabilities and address the inequalities/disadvantages facing them. This is a key role shaping service development, managing resources, promoting independence pathways into adulthood, and ensuring that the voices of children and families inform everything we do.
