Freight Operations Executive

We’re working exclusively with a well established international logistics provider that delivers comprehensive end to end freight solutions across Europe and further afield. They are now seeking an experienced Freight Operations Executive to join their busy Road Freight team based in Wednesbury. This is a fast paced, operationally focused position where accuracy, coordination and proactive problem solving are key. If you enjoy keeping shipments moving and ensuring everything runs like clockwork, this could be the perfect role for you.

Key Responsibilities

* Oversee the full journey of all inbound and outbound shipments from the Wednesbury depot

* Prepare accurate daily export trailer manifests and issue timely pre advices

* Scan and process all freight leaving the depot, ensuring documentation and tracking are consistently up to date

* Update collection and delivery statuses promptly on internal systems

* Obtain, process and chase Proof of Delivery (PODs), maintaining accurate records

* Produce daily operational reports, cross check outturn data and resolve discrepancies within agreed time frames

* Liaise with hauliers to obtain quotes for specialist collections or deliveries

* Work closely with the customs team to ensure compliant and correct documentation for transit

* Prepare driver paperwork to meet customs, legal and company requirements

* Support both Transport and Warehouse teams to maintain smooth daily operations

* Handle incoming customer queries via phone, email and face to face, ensuring a high standard of service

* Assist with same day transport planning and manage subcontractor coordination

About You

* Experience with in freight forwarding, logistics administration, or transport operations

* Strong organisational skills with the ability to remain calm and effective under pressure

* High levels of accuracy and attention to detail

* Confident communicator with solid written and verbal English skills

* Competent user of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook

* Proactive, positive approach with the ability to work autonomously or collaboratively

* Knowledge of European road freight or groupage operations is highly beneficial
