OGC-REWCPAs LLC is a Certified Public Accounting firm located in Brooklyn, NY, specializing in audit, tax, accounting, and compliance services for government‑funded nonprofits, government agencies, and small businesses. The firm operates under GAAP, GAAS, Yellow Book, and Uniform Guidance (2 CFR Part 200), serving a diverse clientele that includes senior service agencies, educational institutions, early childhood centers, and healthcare providers. OGC-REWCPAs holds staffing contracts with the NYC Administration for Children’s Services (ACS), the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), and other agencies to provide experienced auditors, budget analysts, and fiscal staff.

The firm actively recruits student interns and entry‑level professionals for paid training and job placement opportunities on these and other public sector contracts, offering hands‑on experience in governmental accounting, grants management, and compliance auditing.

We are dedicated to training future public accountants through comprehensive, practical, hands‑on experience in both audit and accounting disciplines.

Job Overview

We are looking for recent graduates who have completed a degree in accounting or in their final year and are excited to start their professional careers. This position is perfect for individuals with 0 – 2 yrs prior work experience who want hands‑on exposure to public accounting. The candidate will assist with financial audits, bookkeeping, compliance engagements, and client support under the supervision of licensed CPAs and seasoned audit professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform data entry and spreadsheet analysis to support audit and accounting engagements
  • Assist with financial statement preparation, including trial balance reviews and adjusting journal entries
  • Conduct bank reconciliations, account write‑ups, and variance analysis
  • Support client file maintenance and documentation tracking for PBC (Prepared by Client) requests
  • Learn and assist in audit procedures such as sampling, walkthroughs, and control testing
  • Learn & assist in Substantive Tests of Details & Analytical Reviews
  • Work with accounting software such as Quick Books, Accounting CS, and Microsoft Excel
  • Help monitor e‑filing of tax returns (sales tax, payroll tax) and follow up on client queries
  • Support billing, collection tracking, and receipt processing
  • Perform administrative support, including scanning, document organization, and email correspondence
Qualifications
  • Completed an associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills including formulas, data formatting, and reconciliations
  • Analytical thinker with strong attention to detail and problem‑solving ability
  • Clear, professional communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Motivated self‑starter with a willingness to learn and take initiative
  • Professional demeanor and ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • 0 – 2 yrs prior accounting work experience required; this position is designed for entry‑level training
Preferred
  • Brooklyn‑based or able to commute to our Utica Avenue office in East Flatbush, Brooklyn
  • Familiarity with accounting systems such as Quick Books or Accounting CS
  • Interest in pursuing CPA licensure or a career in public accounting
Work Schedule

20 – 30 hours per week, Monday through Friday. Schedules can be adjusted to accommodate part‑time jobs or other professional development programs/commitments.
