Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Instructor – Part-Time | Valley Village, CA

Whizara delivers student-centered, highly engaging, and interactive after-school programs for K–12 students. We are expanding our offerings to include Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) and are seeking enthusiastic, high-energy instructors to lead in-person classes.

Whether you’re a student, recent graduate, or aspiring educator, this role is perfect for individuals passionate about working with kids and helping them develop confidence, empathy, and emotional intelligence
—essential skills for success in and out of the classroom.

Responsibilities
  • Create a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment that fosters active learning
  • Arrive on time, stay organized, and ensure smooth class operations
  • Deliver lessons using our provided SEL curriculum and materials while setting clear learning objectives
  • Guide and motivate students in developing self-awareness, emotional regulation, and interpersonal skills
  • Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback, and offer individualized support as needed
  • Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and group dynamics
  • Collaborate with parents, school staff, and the Whizara team to achieve program goals
  • Maintain professional communication and provide feedback to refine instruction and curriculum
Requirements
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field preferred (but open to other majors)
  • Current college students in related majors are welcome to apply
  • Strong communication, empathy, and classroom management skills
  • Previous teaching, tutoring, or mentoring experience with K–12 students is a plus
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic, hands-on classroom environment
  • Ability to teach in person at Valley Village, CA
