First Baptist School of Charleston is searching for dedicated and enthusiastic Extended Day Program Teachers for the  school year. Located in the heart of Charleston, our school combines a rich history, strong community values, and a commitment to nurturing the growth of our students in a warm, inclusive environment. This opportunity is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and is passionate about creating a safe, enriching, and engaging after-school experience.

Our Extended Day Program is thoughtfully designed to cater to the unique needs of students in a well-rounded, structured environment. Through a mix of homework time, free play, snacks, games, and videos, this program balances learning and leisure.

The program operates:

• Monday through Friday
  , from the end of the school day until 5:30 PM
  .
• Beginning on the first full day of school and continuing through the last full day
  , contingent on maintaining sufficient enrollment.

As an Extended Day Program Teacher, you will:

• Supervise and engage with students, ensuring their safety and well-being.
• Create a welcoming and supportive environment where students can relax and thrive after their school day.
• Assist with homework, encouraging academic growth and focus.
• Facilitate organized activities such as games and crafts, encouraging creativity and teamwork.
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and other staff members to maintain a positive and collaborative atmosphere.

We’re looking for candidates who:

• Are highly motivated, caring, and enjoy working with children.
• Demonstrate excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Maintain a professional, dependable, and nurturing demeanor.
• Have previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting (preferred).
