Primary Purpose of the Job
The Reliability Engineer (Instrumentation & Control) is responsible for ensuring the efficient and reliable operation of Instrumentation & Control assets. This role involves conducting comprehensive reliability studies, including Asset Criticality Analysis, Risk-Based Maintenance Strategy Development, and Defect Elimination Processes. The engineer will work in accordance with Dukhan Operations Production Assurance & Reliability Management Framework to enhance asset performance and reliability.
Required Experience and SkillsMinimum of eight years of experience in the Oil & Gas sector or relevant industries. Sound knowledge in operations, maintenance, and reliability management of Instrumentation & Control equipment used in Oil & Gas industry.
Reliability tools & methodologies: required to have extensive knowledge of reliability tools such as Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM), Failure Mode & Effect Analysis (FMEA), Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and their application in the Oil & Gas industry. Required to have extensive knowledge of Process Safety tools (HAZOP, SIS, SIL, LOPA). Recommended to have knowledge of RAM Analysis (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability) and RBD (Reliability Block Diagram).
Condition Monitoring: understanding of machinery condition monitoring and analysis, including vibration monitoring and the relevant software tools like System1 and off-line vibration tools, lubrication oil analysis, thermography, and borescope Inspection.
Real Time Information System (RIS): knowledgeable in system utilization to support decision making during RCA and optimization analysis. Support the Job Officer for the Maintenance and Software Support Contract for the RIS software.
Good data interpretation and compilation abilities, with a solid understanding of quality assurance and strong decision-making capability.
Strong interpersonal, presentation, and documentation skills.
Educational QualificationsHold an engineering degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering or a related discipline. Preferred certification as a Chartered/Professional Engineer from a recognized certification institute, along with professional membership in a recognized Engineering Society or institute (e.g., SMRP, CRL, ESRA).
