The post holder will report to the Mechanicals Junior Supervisor and be an experienced and skilled Mechanical technician, undertakinga range of detailed base maintenance activities on Typhoon aircraft.
The post holder requires an experience of maintenance on the Typhoon, understanding of approved data set and is competent to carrying outmaintenance instructions in accordance with the organisation’s regulatory framework.
Demonstrates a distinct ability of trade knowledge of Typhoonaircraft and assemblies, follow diagnostic procedures and work effectively within a team.
Core Activity:
Undertakingdetailed maintenance, inspection activities on the Typhoon Mechanical systems. Assuring your work undertaken is completed in accordance with thework package, using the relevant approved technical information. Assisting in resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness ofconfiguration management
Undertakingand complete tasked maintenance activities on Typhoon Mechanical systems,which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections,repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and / or functional / system test
Demonstratea flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilitiesappropriate to the role and takes direction appropriately
Maintaininga personal task authorisation for working on components in accordance withQAF requirements
Progressreporting against delivery targets to supervisor
Undertakingsupport tasks within the Base Maintenance Facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and QAF procedures (e.g. oversightchecks, control of tooling / test equipment)
Undertakingfault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ duringmaintenance
Ensuring all Maintenance activities are appropriately documented and airworthinessrecords are maintained on relevant systems (IT / paper based). Compilerequired reporting, identify any issues and elevate as appropriate
Maintaininga personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, on completion ofOn the Job training (OJT) activities, sign other personnel’slogbooksas appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries.

Performanceindicators
– Leading by example to provide effective maintenance activities by meeting delivery targets, monitoring progress and reporting any impact on continuing airworthiness. Identify any issues and escalat
Procedure/standards
–Comply with the regulatory framework, its associated procedures and standards, and any other company procedures and standards. Identify and propose change as required as applicable
Safety Management System
– Ensure human factors and error management philosophies are applied to all maintenance activities. Understand therisks associated with maintenance activities and the means by which theyare mitigated and managed
Continuing Airworthiness Assurance (Quality)– Ensure maintenance activities are compliant with the continuing airworthiness assurance management system, in conjunction with the MOE
Statutory/Regulatory& Legislative requirements
– Able to demonstrate an appropriate level of understanding and application of the relevantcontinuing airworthiness regulatory framework. Support the implementation of any regulatory driven changes into the maintenance activities. Ensure compliance with all other requirements, e.g. ITAR, EaPW, ISO

Typhoon Mechanical Experience
Completion of an Engineering Apprenticeship, ideally in Aeronautical Engineering or Military equivalent apprenticeship / qualifications. Academicqualification for this role is a minimum of City & Guilds 2675 or 2661in Aeronautical Engineering and Maintenance or equivalent. Aircraftplatform training (On a/c requirement)
Requiresa broad and in-depth product knowledge/competency within owntechnical/subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with othersin order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application
Experienced and competent operator. Requires a minimum of 1 year working within Typhoon Base Maintenance. Demonstrating experience, currency &recency via a Log Book capturing skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft type. Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices. Aknowledge of Expositions and Functionally Mandated Procedures Management training. PDR training / experience
IT Literate
Ensure personal compliance with the risk assessments, SHE policies and procedures
