Overview
The Flying Clothing Bay Technician will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities in the Aircrafts Flying Clothing Bay, demonstrating the ability to derive diagnostic techniques. They will be responsible for maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation on the Aircrafts Flying Clothing activities, and be able to demonstrate awareness of broader external dependencies and identify areas for continuous improvement.
Responsibilities- Undertake detailed maintenance and inspection activities on Aircrafts Flying Clothing components, ensuring work is completed in accordance with the SOW/Work package using relevant approved technical information and resolving faults and maintenance issues with awareness of configuration management.
- Complete tasked maintenance and diagnostic activities on Pilot Flying Clothing components, which may include component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system testing.
- Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and take direction appropriately.
- Maintain personal and team task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements.
- Progress report against delivery targets to supervisor.
- Undertake support tasks within the Flying Clothing Bay facility required to maintain compliance with the MOE and AMC procedures, such as oversight checks and control of tooling/test equipment.
- Undertake fault evaluation and raise ad hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ during maintenance.
- Maintain personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, and oversee other people’s Log Books as appropriate within your trade and skill boundaries.
- Broad and in‑depth product knowledge/competency within own technical/subject area.
- Awareness of how the team integrates with others to achieve overall objectives, demonstrating an understanding of continuous improvement and its application.
- Ensure personal compliance with the risk assessments, SHE policies and procedures.
- Typically 3+ years’ experience, including type, classed as fully competent with all required Authorities in place.
- Demonstrating breadth of systems experience, currency and recency via a Log Book (electronic or paper) capturing skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft or in workshops.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the acceptable means of compliance documentation set.
- Human Factors – Standard Course Specification.
- E&PW Awareness – Standard Course Specification.
- ITAR Awareness – Standard Course Specification.
- IT Literate.
