Responsibilities
- The Flying Clothing Bay Technician will be an experienced and skilled technician undertaking a range of detailed maintenance activities in the Aircrafts Flying Clothing Bay, demonstrating the ability to derive diagnostic techniques. They will be responsible for maintaining airworthiness through appropriate task delegation and authorisation on the Aircrafts Flying Clothing activities, and be able to demonstrate awareness of broader external dependencies and identify areas for continuous improvement.
- Undertaking detailed maintenance, inspection activities on the Aircrafts Flying Clothing components. Assuring work carried out has been completed in accordance with the SOW/Work package using the relevant approved technical information. Resolving faults and maintenance issues, including an awareness of configuration management.
- Undertaking and completing tasked maintenance & diagnostic activities on the Pilots Flying Clothing components which may include, as appropriate, component removals, inspections, repairs, modifications, fault rectifications, replacements and/or functional/system test.
- Demonstrate a flexible and proactive attitude to carrying out responsibilities appropriate to the role and take direction appropriately.
- Maintaining personal & team task authorisation for working on an aircraft or components in accordance with AMC requirements.
- Progress reporting against delivery targets to supervisor.
- Undertaking support tasks within the Flying Clothing Bay facility which are required to maintain compliance with the MOE and AMC procedures (e.g. oversight checks, control of tooling/test equipment etc.).
- Undertaking fault evaluation and raising ad‑hoc work cards for ‘found faults’ during maintenance.
- Maintaining a personal Log Book to demonstrate currency and recency, and over‑signing other people’s Log Books as appropriate within your trade and skills boundaries.
- Requires broad and in‑depth product knowledge/competency within own technical/subject area. Awareness of how the team integrates with others in order to achieve the overall objectives of the area and demonstrates an understanding of the requirement for continuous improvement and its application.
- Ensure personal compliance with the risk assessments, SHE policies and procedures.
- Typically, 3+ years’ experience including type, classed as fully competent with all required ‘Authorities’ in place.
- Demonstrating breadth of systems experience, currency & recency via a Log Book (electronic or paper) capturing skills, knowledge and authorities for working on Aircraft or in workshops.
- A comprehensive knowledge of the acceptable means of compliance documentation set.
