Job Description # Estimator
* Analyze project plans, specifications, and other bid documents to prepare accurate cost estimates.
* Perform detailed quantity takeoffs for all scopes of work.
* Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.
* Assist with preparation of bid packages and proposal documents.
* Maintain and update estimating software, cost databases, and historical pricing information.
* Identify scope gaps, cost risks, and value engineering opportunities.
* Work closely with the project management team and senior estimators during preconstruction.
* Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and post-bid reviews.
* 2–5 years of experience in commercial construction estimating or preconstruction.
* Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., On-Screen Takeoff, iSqFt, Sage Estimating, Bluebeam, or similar).
* Strong understanding of construction drawings, materials, and methods.
* Excellent math, organizational, and communication skills.
* Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple estimates at once.
* Familiarity with commercial project types including retail, industrial, medical, and office is preferred.
* Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.
* Ability to perform site visits to understand existing conditions and gather information for estimates.
* Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
