Field Service Technician – Duluth, GA
WEG Electric Corp. is hiring a Field Service Technician. The role involves field service for commissioning, warranty evaluation, repair and support services for WEG Energy products, motors, and generators.
Primary Responsibilities- Serve as a technical resource for the installation, startup, and commissioning of large motors and generators.
- Serve as a technical resource for routine maintenance on large motors and generators.
- May provide technical expertise and guidance for the repair of large motors and generators.
- Assist with warranty evaluation to determine whether a specific field service activity falls under a WEG warranty agreement.
- Coordinate work efforts with an Authorized Service Center in the USA as appropriate.
- Demonstrate a functional understanding of industrial applications to support WEG Energy products in the environment.
- Understand customers’ internal processes to support WEG products.
- Exhibit effective customer service skills and project a positive corporate image.
- Document on-site conditions thoroughly, including photographs, drawings, schematics, and comprehensive field service reports.
- Upon completing activities, effectively establish expectations for follow‑up with customers and WEG internal teams.
- Promote the sale of spare parts and maintenance programs for large motors and generators installed at customers’ job sites.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
- High School or GED required. Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
- Installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of large induction motors.
- Installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of large synchronous machines.
- Commissioning of liquid rheostat starters.
- Commissioning of lube oil systems.
- Use of vibration analyzer.
- Use of power analyzer.
- Adjustment of instruments assembled on motors and generators.
- 3+ years of related experience.
