Duties, Responsibilities & Other- Prepare traffic signal, pavement marking, signing, lighting, and maintenance of traffic plans
- Prepare Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) design
- Perform data collection
- Perform traffic impact analyses
- Prepare traffic and safety studies
- Perform traffic analyses
- Perform transportation planning studies
- Prepare quantity and cost estimates
- Prepare written reports
- B.S.C.E. degree required
- E.I.T. or P.E. certification preferred
- Familiarity with standard references such as the AASHTO Green Book, the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices, the Highway Safety Manual and the Highway Capacity Manual
- Familiarity with GDOT design standards and guidelines
- Computer skills including training in CADD (MICROSTATION, OPEN ROADS), HCS, SYNCHRO/SIM-TRAFFIC, Vistro, VISSIM, SIDRA, Microsoft WORD and Microsoft EXCEL
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- 0-2 Years of experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET‑Accredited Program
- General knowledge of required design software (Micro Station, AutoCAD, Revit)
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Good communication and technical writing skills
- Detail‑oriented with strong organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Strong problem‑solving skills and ability to think critically
- Valid Driver’s License
- Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification
Pre‑employment drug screening and background check are conditions of employment. Motor vehicle checks may be required based upon position.
