Roadway Design Engineer

Join Columbia Engineering and Services, Inc. as a Roadway Design Engineer. The role focuses on transportation design for roads, highways, intersections, bicycle, and pedestrian projects while developing technical skills and supporting project delivery.

• Provide technical support
• Develop conceptual layouts
• Design roadway geometrics
• Develop drainage designs
• Develop construction staging plans
• Develop erosion and sedimentation control designs
• Prepare construction plans
• Prepare right-of-way plans
• Perform other related design tasks
• Work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
• Good communication and technical writing skills
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Work effectively in a team-based, collaborative environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to think critically

• E.I.T. or Professional Engineer License
• Bentley Micro Station Open Roads or InRoads design experience
• Other applicable software such as AutoCAD
• Experience with Georgia DOT roadway/highway design projects
• An eagerness to learn and ability to apply your engineering skills in developing creative problem-solving designs
