Advanced Software Engineer – Honeywell (Duluth, GA)

Responsibilities- Supporting the design and development team dedicated to the RF and DSP automation features and capabilities for ERCES BDA and DAS.
- Designing and developing the production automation system Fiplex Automation System.
- Responsible for selecting RF test equipment and other ancillary equipment to be used in the Semi‑Automatic FAS stations and FAS Automatic Testing stations.
- Designing and implementing JAVA control programs for RF measurement instruments in FAS production stations.
- Designing and implementing firmware of the test interfaces in the production FAS stations; supporting design of the FAS system database architecture.
- Supporting design of web and desktop interfaces for FAS system users.
- Designing and implementing variants necessary so that vendors can operate the FAS system in their facilities.
- Supporting testing, debugging, and correcting new firmware and control programs so that FAS can operate efficiently with new products that R&D develops and must go into production.
- Supporting development and implementation of interfaces between the FAS system, the FAS terminals, and the DSP core of the Bidirectional Amplifiers and Distributed Antenna Systems that will be automatically calibrated and tested by FAS.
- Working with DSP and FPGA area leads to optimise firmware, with the aim of increasing productivity and making FAS automation more efficient.
- Working together with the Compliance department for FAS to perform all RF and functional tests required by NFPA, IFC, UL and FCC.
- Working with Production to improve integration of FAS with SAP, reducing manual processes related to managing production orders in SAP.
- Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Electronic Engineering or related field and at least 3 years of engineering experience.
- Experience in RF passive and active designs, RF lab testing, Bidirectional Amplifiers and Distributed Antenna Systems architecture, operation of BDA and DAS, FCC/NFPA/IFC/UL standards, ERCES, RF in‑building wireless, Digital Signal Processing, FPGA programming, database management, and JAVA programming.
- Telecommuting permitted up to two times per week.
- Up to 5% domestic and international travel required.
