Hussey Gay Bell is accepting applications for a Transportation Engineer to join its Duluth location. Candidates must have 2-10 years of transportation systems design and construction administration experience. A strong technical background with leadership, communication, and business development skills is essential. The successful candidate will design and manage aspects of transportation projects for state and local governments, including:
- Development of construction plans
- Cost estimates
- Bid documents
- Various calculations and quantity takeoffs
The Transportation Engineer will design and manage transportation projects, focusing on construction plans, cost estimates, bid documents, and related tasks.
Core Responsibilities:- Assist in designing and creating construction documents for transportation projects
- Handle roadway design components such as typical sections, earthwork, geometric layouts, drainage and hydraulic analysis, erosion control, signing and marking, safety features, and traffic maintenance plans
- Produce construction documents including design, drafting, quantity calculations, specifications, and cost estimates
- Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution
- 2+ years of professional experience in highway/transportation design, including ROW and final construction plans; GDOT and SCDOT experience preferred
- Proficiency with roadway design software like Open Roads, Micro Station V8i, and GEOPAK
- Knowledge of AASHTO, MUTCD, and GDOT/SCDOT standards
Skills:
- Licensed Professional Engineer in GA
- Strong planning, scheduling, organizational, and communication skills
