Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner – Positive Impact Health Centers

A Psychiatric mid‑level practitioner (Nurse Practitioner: NP, Clinical Nurse Specialist: CNS, or Physician Assistant: PA) will provide psychiatric services including diagnostic assessment, medication assessment, prescription of psychiatric medications, and medication management. The practitioner will provide direct services to patients with the support of the Behavioral Health Department clinical staff and the psychiatric assistant, under the direction of a PIHC staff psychiatrist.

The Behavioral Health Director supervises the position. All clinical staff provide care per Standard Operating Procedures and protocols developed by the Behavioral Health Department. The NP/CNS/PA works collaboratively across PIHC Substance Abuse, Client Services, Clinical Care, and Prevention Departments.

• Provide diagnostic and medication assessment for psychiatric patients.
• Prescribe psychiatric medications and manage medication therapy.
• Deliver direct services to patients under the support of clinical staff and psychiatric assistants.
• Work collaboratively with multiple departments:
  Substance Abuse, Client Services, Clinical Care, and Prevention.

• Master’s Degree in Nursing (or higher) or Physician Assistant degree/program from an accredited college or university.
• Georgia licensed NP, CNS, or PA.
• Active NPI and DEA registration.
• At least 2–5 years of experience as an NP/CNS/PA in a clinical setting.
