Location:
BI AH Headquarters in Duluth, Georgia (within the Atlanta area). Candidates must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to the Atlanta area. A relocation package is offered for those willing to relocate.
Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health (BIAH) is a worldwide leader in animal health pharmaceuticals. The Field Sales Development Representative (FSD) is a developmental role that trains to become a future BIAH Sales Representative while supporting the Field Sales team with outbound telephone coverage for a subset of field accounts. The FSD will also temporarily cover outside sale territories as part of the developmental program.
Duties & Responsibilities- Complete a development program that includes BIAH technical product and sales training, on‑the‑job training in telephonic sales, field sales, and in‑clinic experiences.
- Work closely with field sales to grow share, gain new product penetration, and uncover opportunities and threats while promoting the portfolio of BIAH products.
- Provide outbound telephone coverage for a subset of field accounts to contribute to company sales targets.
- Participate in several temporary field‑based assignments lasting 2–3 months; relocation on short notice is mandatory.
- Develop and maintain product knowledge and effective selling skills to influence animal health care professionals (AHCP) and support use of BIAH promoted products.
- Use the CRM tool to create pre‑call plans, follow defined CRM business rules, and manage accurate and timely follow‑up discussions with AHCP.
- Perform all company business in accordance with all regulations, such as EEO and FDA, and company policy and procedures, reporting any violations to management.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution, with related experience in the veterinary industry or sales preferred.
- Two-plus (2+) years of sales experience preferred.
- Demonstrated aptitude and desire to sell, gain market and service knowledge, and ability to learn technical product knowledge.
- In‑depth knowledge of all BIAH products and ability to utilize sales processes; persuasiveness, tenacity, and organizational skills required.
- Key competencies: interpersonal skills, drive, resilience, teamwork, organization skills, strong verbal and written communication, credible persuasive skills, and strong telephone presentation and computer skills.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.
- Must be willing to take a drug test and post‑offer physical (if required).
- Must be 18 years of age or older.
