Inspect, repair, and test fire extinguishers using hand tools, hydrostatic test equipment, and monitoring devices. Hydro-test high pressure cylinders, dismantle extinguishers, examine mechanical parts, extinguishing agents, and expelling means, and replace worn or damaged parts.

• Dismantle extinguishers and examine tubing, horns, head gaskets, cutter discs, and other parts for defects; replace worn or damaged parts.
• Clean extinguishers and recharge with various agents, including soda water and sulfuric acid, carbon tetrachloride, nitrogen, or patented solutions.
• Test extinguishers for conformity with legal specifications.
• Install cabinets and brackets to hold extinguishers.
• Facilitate and support sales of fire extinguishers.

High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
