Responsibilities- Read, interpret, and build from engineered drawings as assigned by Technical Director.
- Interpret and build from sketches, photos, video, or other media as assigned by Technical Director.
- Lay out steel construction efficiently and accurately prior to welding.
- Measure, cut, bend, and punch aluminum and steel components for construction.
- Steel cleaning, preparation, storage, and post-welding cleanup in preparation for painting finished products.
- Operate equipment including MIG welder, TIG welder, spool gun, drill press, horizontal band saw, portable band saw, abrasive saw, cold miter saw, angle grinders, pneumatic roller bender, pneumatic 55 ton iron worker, tap & die, and plasma cutter.
- Assist in mounting and installation of gates, pedestrian gates, custom fencing, rails, and all custom produced products.
- Willingness to transfer to carpentry shop to produce custom wood and steel gates, fence panels, and some general wood work.
- Work in a safe, efficient, and organized manner.
- Willingness to learn how to install gate operator systems.
- Provide feedback to the technical director/engineer on design specifications and production.
Expected working hours: 40-45 hours per week, rarely exceeding 45 hours. Performance pay and bonuses are available on top of base pay. All required equipment will be provided. You may be asked to complete a series of coupon tests during the interview and are expected to bring your own welding helmet and PPE for the interview.
Qualifications- Experience in carpentry/metal-working.
- Mechanical background in construction or production is preferred.
- Must be able to safely operate a MIG welder, TIG welder, and stick welder.
- Must be able to safely lift 50 lbs.
- Attention to detail.
- Technical welding certification.
- A mechanic background is a plus.
Starting base pay is $22/hour or more based on experience and skillset. Compensation ranges from $22-$28 hourly.
