Staff / Senior Accountant

Duluth, GA|Hybrid|Full-Time

Before we get into responsibilities and requirements, let's talk about who you are. Are you the kind of accountant who can't rest until every client's books are right, on time, and ready for review? Do you catch the miss before anyone else does? And are you someone who takes real ownership, communicates clearly, and doesn't need to be chased to keep things moving?

If you're nodding along, keep reading. You might be exactly who we're looking for.

We're hiring a team member to own and oversee the day-to-day accounting work that keeps our clients' financials accurate and on time. You'll be the person who keeps the work moving: handling the accounting, catching what needs catching, and making sure nothing slips. The more you own, the more you'll grow.

At Right Choice, we work hard and we play hard. We take our clients' numbers seriously, just not ourselves. Expect a team that celebrates wins, laughs a lot, and has each other's backs, especially when deadlines hit.

About Us

Right Choice Accounting Solutions helps practices, agencies, and firms maximize their profits while saving A LOT in taxes. We're a full-service accounting and tax firm built for business owners who are done piecing together bookkeeping, payroll, and tax help and are ready for a team that can take their entire accounting function to the next level.

Our clients come to us as the upgrade they didn't know they needed. We're the team that makes their numbers make sense, keeps them on track, and builds the strategies that actually move the needle as they scale.

We specialize in Client Advisory Services (CAS), monthly financial reporting, bookkeeping, tax strategy, tax preparation, and payroll support. As a one-stop shop, we deliver results without the stiff, corporate vibe. Our clients trust us because we make accounting approachable, effective, and dare we say, actually enjoyable to talk about.

Proudly family-owned and CPA-led, we're not just about the numbers. We're about the people behind them. Recently featured in Forbes as "Top CPAs in Georgia", recognized as Best in County in Gwinnett multiple years in a row, and named among the Top 20 business alumni from the university where our leaders met, we're just getting started.

The Role

This role owns the day-to-day accounting work that keeps our clients' books clean, accurate, and current. You'll work closely with our leadership team and work directly with Right Choice clients. This is a key company role.

You'll manage the full accounting process across a portfolio of client companies. This includes bookkeeping oversight, preparing journal entries, processing payroll, supporting month-end close, and keeping every client on schedule. We're looking for someone who knows the difference between what to fix and what to flag, and keeps leadership in the loop the whole time.

Key Responsibilities:

Oversight & Workflow
  • Own day-to-day accounting work and keep every client on schedule
  • Review work for accuracy before it moves forward
  • Flag issues early and keep leadership updated on status
Accounting & Month-End
  • Prepare recurring and adjusting journal entries
  • Support the full month-end close process
  • Process payroll for clients' employees and contractors under our standard procedures
Bookkeeping & Reconciliations
  • Categorize transactions in Quick Books Online accurately and completely
  • Perform bank and credit card reconciliations across a portfolio of client companies
  • Clean up and correct existing books where needed
Client & Team Communication
  • Work directly with clients
  • Communicate regularly and clearly with the team on status, blockers, and needs
  • Use Right Choice systems and communication methods to stay "in the loop" with the team
  • Never guess. Always use the team as a resource when things are unclear.
Growth Opportunities
  • Plenty of room to grow as we grow
  • Opportunities to transition into the Client Advisory Services (CAS) team
  • Advancement based on results, not years in the seat
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (required)
  • 2+ years of hands-on accounting or bookkeeping experience
  • Experience reviewing others' work, overseeing day-to-day productivity, and managing multiple clients' books at once (preferred)
  • Quick Books Online experience (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close
  • Strong attention to detail and the judgment to know what to fix versus what to expedite
  • Excellent communication skills. Willing to ask…
