WhatYou’ll Do
As a Digitization Technician, you’ll work at the heart of our operations, helping transform physical collections into high-quality digital assets that serve our clients for generations.
You will:
- Operate a range of professional scanning equipment with accuracy and care.
- Organize and prepare archival materials (removing staples, unfolding documents, arranging items chronologically).
- Produce 1,000+ scans per workday (or equivalent per hour by equipment type) while ensuring the perfect balance of volume and image quality.
- Inspect the digital color accuracy of scans and apply image corrections (cropping, de‑skewing) to maintain industry‑leading standards.
- Conduct quality control checks to verify accuracy and consistency of digital files.
- Use Microsoft 365 tools, customized asset management systems, and Adobe products like Bridge or Photoshop for file handling and review.
- Support archival staff with special projects and occasional research requests.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet operational and project needs.
- Be prepared to wear protective gear (such as coveralls or protective suits) when required to safely handle certain materials or environments.

Key Skills / Qualifications- Proficiency with MS 365, Windows, and MacOS platforms.
- Experience with Adobe Bridge or other Adobe tools is a plus.
- Any exposure to photography, digital imaging, or related hobbies/skills is preferred.
- Strong Excel proficiency for tracking and reporting work.
- Comfortable with physical activity—ability to lift 40–50 pounds and spend extended periods standing.
- Willingness to strike the right balance between high‑volume production and meticulous quality standards.
- A college degree is a plus but not required.
- No prior industry experience is necessary—we will provide full training.

This role is designed to give you a strong foundation in digitization and archival services. With demonstrated performance or additional education, you’ll have opportunities to advance into Digital Coordinator, Archivist, or other roles within Heritage Werks.
