Adjunct-Native Studies role at The College of St. Scholastica
. The College of St. Scholastica has an opening for adjunct faculty to teach undergraduate introductory and intermediate courses in Ojibwe language and culture. Applicants with proven teaching skills at the college level are encouraged to apply.
- $1,020 per credit for undergraduate courses; $1,112 per credit for undergraduate courses after 40 credits taught within a five-year period; $1,352 per credit for graduate courses. Any future updates to per credit rates of pay will be reflected within the electronic contract.
- Teach beginning and intermediate Ojibwe language with the possibility of creating an advanced course in the language.
- Ability to teach additional courses in Native Studies if applicable.
- Candidate must hold an M.A. in Ojibwe language and culture studies, a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Native or near-native fluency in Ojibwemowin and English.
- Possible areas of specialization include Education, Native American Studies, and Indigenous Art and Music.
- The successful candidate will have teaching experience and demonstrate a dedication to working with diverse communities, specifically tribal communities.
- First-hand knowledge of traditional belief systems in Ojibwe communities is preferred.
- Ph.D./Ed.D. (preferred) in Ojibwemowin, linguistics, or a closely related field.
