Student Engagement Officer at The College of St. Scholastica
Job Purpose/DescriptionStudent Engagement Officers play a critical role in building relationships and keeping lines of communication open with alumni, parents, and friends of the College. They support the College Advancement Office through fundraising efforts, share College updates with alumni, thank generous donors, assist with events and so much more.
Job Duties- Record fundraising videos with captions by memorizing a script and customizing it to specific donors, events, and solicitations.
- Contact alumni, parents, and friends to collect and update contact information, share College updates, ask for gifts, and thank individuals for their support.
- Attend and work at College Advancement and Alumni Relations events.
- Send digital and handwritten thank-you letters to donors.
- Contact event participants to conduct event surveys, verify attendance, and provide feedback.
- Assist Development Staff with scheduling introductions and meetings with alumni, parents and friends.
- Conduct research as directed by College Advancement staff.
- Participate in training sessions and webinars assigned by the supervisor.
- Enter data and updates into the processing system for College Advancement review.
- Maintain strict confidentiality and ensure security of all information and data.
- Work with other engagement officers in a team-oriented environment to develop and grow the student fundraising program and assist with reaching College fundraising goals.
- Other duties as may be assigned and/or necessary.
- Must be a current or incoming CSS student.
- Federal work study eligibility is required.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, emphasis on phone etiquette.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to interact with a wide variety of people in a friendly, professional manner.
- Problem‑solving mentality and ability to think strategically in a fast‑paced environment.
- Professional presence to represent the College to the public.
- Experience working with confidential information and willingness to comply and enforce security protocols.
- Passion for The College of St. Scholastica and desire to advance the mission of the College.
- Must be reliable, able to work as a member of a team, and use own initiative when appropriate.
- Responsible, mature, energetic individual who will not take rejection from their work personally.
- Previous phone, fundraising, or sales experience preferred.
