Essential Duties & Responsibilities:To succeed in this role, individuals must be able to perform each essential duty effectively. - Develop HVAC control drawings, schedules, submittals, sequences of operations, material lists, network layouts, electrical schematics, and as-built documentation; select hardware designs from multiple control vendors.
- Design HVAC control programs and Building Automation Systems tailored to project specifications.
- Collaborate closely with subcontractors, technicians, and mechanics to clarify agreements and coordinate scopes of work.
- Support the preparation of cost estimates and proposals; offer technical recommendations to enhance project outcomes.
- Manage material ordering and perform verification to ensure accuracy and availability.
- Provide guidance and support to field teams during installation and contract execution.
- Participate in and assist with the commissioning of control systems and related equipment.
- Offer technical assistance to design engineers and project managers throughout all phases of the project.
- Ensure safe operations in alignment with company policies and procedures; proactively work to reduce hazards and manage claims.
- Engage in continuous self-learning to stay ahead of industry trends and maintain proficiency in company standards, practices, and product lines; complete required certifications.
- Contribute actively to company programs, policies, and initiatives that promote organizational growth and success.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience:
- Completion of a technical program in a related field OR fulfillment of a related Jamar internship program.
- Must demonstrate strong technical aptitude and advanced computer proficiency, including expertise in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), Adobe Acrobat, Visio, and foundational Windows operating systems.
- Must possess in-depth knowledge of engineering principles, HVAC system design and commissioning, and a solid understanding of business operations within the building systems industry.
- This position will report regularly in person to Duluth, MN.
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license in accordance with company's driving policy.
- Must have exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with proven interpersonal abilities to represent the company ethically and professionally, in alignment with its core values and mission.
- Must be willing and able to travel, with frequency and duration varying based on project assignments.
