Information Specialist III - Auditor's Office

A public-facing role located in the Duluth Courthouse office, focused on providing excellent customer service to citizens and the public via phone, email, and in person.

Key Responsibilities
  • Answer phone calls and in‑person inquiries regarding property tax status, explaining late fees, penalties, delinquent tax status, payment plans, and tax forfeiture.
  • Process deeds, mortgages, and other land title related documents in paper and electronic recording form.
  • Research recorded documents to maintain accurate owner and taxpayer information.
  • Update taxpayer addresses and escrow account information from department requests.
  • Perform statutory and MN Department of Revenue tasks such as processing mail‑in tax payments and sending county‑wide tax statements and letters.
Qualifications
  • Five (5) years of full‑time paid clerical experience or equivalent education/experience.
  • Proficiency in operating personal computer‑based systems and word‑processing software.
  • Typing speed of 40 words per minute or greater from clear copy.
Salary

$23.74 – $32.89 per hour (including longevity pay); normal hiring range for 2025.
