IT Technician

Lake Superior Consulting is seeking an IT Technician I to join our team. This entry‑level position focuses on end‑user troubleshooting, PC support, and basic networking. Experience in an internal and customer‑facing IT environment is preferred.

Familiarity with Windows operating systems, MS Office, networking, PC hardware, wireless technology, basic wiring, Active Directory, Help Desk software, video conferencing, web‑based applications, desktop imaging, remote support, VOIP, Microsoft Teams, and desktop firewalls is preferred. Experience with Dell desktops and laptops is a plus.

• Serve as the first point of contact for clients and internal employees via phone, email, or ticketing system.
• Perform remote troubleshooting using diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions.
• Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers.
• Walk the customer through the problem‑solving process.
• Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel within published SLA guidelines.
• Record events, problems, and their resolution within published SLA guidelines.
• Follow‑up and update customer status and information daily.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Must work well in a group as well as alone and unsupervised.
• Attention to detail and good time management to keep up with a high volume of support requests.
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with end users and department members.
• Previous Help Desk experience is not required.
• Industry certifications, associate degree, and/or bachelor’s degree are a plus.

• May travel up to 10%; a clean driving record is required.
• Occasional lifting of up to 50 lbs.

Lake Superior Consulting offers a competitive compensation package. The actual starting salary will be determined based on your skills, experience, and office/market location. The anticipated salary range for this position is $47,000- $58,000 per year.
