As a Safety Manager you will oversee all aspects of occupational safety management protocols within an industrial setting. This role involves a high level of visibility and presence on jobsites to support our project teams, the development and execution of comprehensive strategic plans, auditing and monitoring our projects for compliance with OSHA/MSHA and other regulatory standards and fostering a culture of safety awareness.

The Industrial Safety Manager is responsible for conducting risk assessments and project pre‑planning, implementing preventative measures, training, and leading incident investigations. Their goal is to minimize workplace hazards, reduce incident and injury rates, and ensure the safest possible working environment for all team members. This position requires a proactive leader who can effectively communicate safety policies, drive continuous improvement in the organization's safety performance, and work in an extremely fast paced environment.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide full‑time site safety management on the projects and/or industrial outages you are assigned to, as well as providing leadership to and the placement of 3rd party safety professionals on other projects/outages where full time safety coverage is needed, in collaboration with industrial department leadership.
  • Perform safety audits and evaluations; create site‑specific safety plans, produce reports regarding observations, provide corrective actions and communicate findings to superintendents, project managers and company leadership. Attend customer meetings as required.
  • Provide incident and injury management support to assigned projects; conduct incident investigations and maintain site‑required documentation related to safety including reports.
  • Coordinate and actively participate in claims management.
  • Develop content and materials for site‑specific training and education programs for workers, project management and field leadership to include regulatory/required safety training. Responsible for conducting new hire safety orientation and weekly safety meetings.
  • Assist with the development, refinement, implementation and promotion of the company’s safety & loss prevention programs and initiatives, with specific emphasis on site location.
  • Support programs, policies and initiatives designed to enhance the overall good of the company and parent corporation, to include input in strategic planning and an overall willingness to share any and all ideas.
  • Manage and execute assigned tasks in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Represent the company both internally and externally in a professional manner consistent with our values and mission.

Experience/

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or a related field of study and three years’ experience in a safety‑related position with direct project oversight OR seven years of progressive experience in a project safety role including direct project oversight.
  • Industrial construction / maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA/MSHA standards
  • BCSP certification is preferred (CSP, ASP, or CHST)
  • Proficient computer skills in MSOffice, to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
