Sofidel America of Duluth is currently seeking Packaging Operators to join our converting team. We are looking for candidates local to the area who seek a long-term career in a stable environment with growth opportunities. This pivotal role supports daily production within our new operations.

Sofidel America, a subsidiary of the Sofidel Group, is a leading global manufacturer of hygienic and domestic paper products. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Horsham, PA, we operate manufacturing plants across 10 states and have subsidiaries in 12 countries with over 6,500 employees.

Job Responsibilities

Support Converting Production by operating paper converting equipment to meet production goals safely. Ensure compliance with safety policies and that products meet customer specifications, maintaining high quality standards. Collaborate closely with Machine Operators and Material Handlers, reporting to the Converting Production Manager.

  • Support Good Manufacturing Practices and HACCP to maintain a safe, sanitary workplace.
  • Set up, operate, and adjust packaging equipment.
  • Work as part of a team to achieve production targets.
  • Document quality, production, and maintenance issues during operation.
  • Understand product specifications to produce quality finished products within tolerances.
  • Read and interpret schedules, manuals, and specifications to operate equipment properly.
  • Maintain an organized, clean work area.
  • Perform routine equipment inspections and report issues.
  • Assist other team members as needed.
Other Duties
  • Perform operations to meet schedules and quality standards, notifying supervision of issues.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and orderly work environment.
  • Participate in meetings and work groups to stay informed on policies and developments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Essential Job Functions
  • Use tools and measuring instruments related to equipment operation.
  • Identify nonconformance and notify supervisors.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and management.
  • Use computers and production software.
Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED preferred; or 6-12 months manufacturing experience or equivalent.
  • SAP experience required.
  • Ability to work across departments and in teams.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Ability to interpret safety and operational documents.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Learn and certify in Lift and Crane operation.
