Overview
Forge Operator – $31.68/hour after shift premiums and overtime; 3 days on, 3 days off; night shift position from 7pm to 7am; weekly pay.
Responsibilities- Operate forge equipment safely and conduct routine forge checks and quality inspections to ensure finished products meet customer specifications.
- Perform forge start-up and shutdown procedures, understand forge control panel functions and platform lights/switches.
- Reset forge electrical, oil system and unscrambler breakers.
- Start up conveyors using proper procedures.
- Replace and align slings on the unscrambler.
- Perform basic troubleshooting on components such as finger and arm, stock gauge, kicker pin and springs, worn tooling, transfer lift, and bar conveyor unscrambler.
- Handle conversions for forge tooling, pinch rolls, bar conveyors, forge timing and die alignment.
- Change, reset and align rounder dies; check and set forge stop positioning.
- Monitor processes, measure outputs, and adjust to ensure production of quality products.
- Accurately complete daily control sheets, forge sheets, and safety inspections.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Plant Superintendent.
