• 6 years of diesel mechanic experience
• 6 years of CNG experience
• Waste industry experience as a mechanic

• 90% travel within your assigned area
• Home location can be any WM shop nearest your home
• Hotel accommodations while traveling to other sites in the area
• 1‑week assignments that can extend to 4 weeks at a site
• Assignments based on work zones nearest to home, but can vary
• Normal setting: repair/maintenance shop at any Upper Mid West location

• Inspect, diagnose, and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and air systems on a wide range of vehicles and equipment
• Estimate time and material costs for vehicle repairs and new parts
• Perform work within Standard Labor Repair Times (SRTs)
• Respond to service calls for emergency breakdowns
• Conduct safety checks on vehicles to ensure employee and community safety
• Complete required paperwork, documenting parts usage and repair times
• Assist senior mechanics with project work
• Review, complete, or assign repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports
• Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards

• 4 years of relevant work experience
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Over 18 years of age
• Legally eligible to work in the United States
• Ability to meet physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
• Successfully pass a pre‑employment drug screen and physical exam

• Frequent lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, and climbing; constant standing, walking, and grasping; occasional sitting and balancing

• Work may involve inclement weather, heat, and humidity

The expected base pay range for this position is $29.35 - $44.06. The specific salary offered to a successful candidate may be influenced by factors including experience, education, training, certifications, and work location.
