Position and responsibilities
  • The Equipment Operator is responsible for operating heavy machinery and landscaping equipment to assist in the installation and execution of residential and commercial landscape projects.
  • Work with the Project Manager and crew to install and carry out hardscaping and soft scaping projects on an ongoing basis.
  • Identify needs on a jobsite (Garden Bed Installation, Planting/Horticulture, Grading, Sod, Seeding/Over seeding, Artificial Turf, Drainage, Pavers/Slabs, Retaining/Freestanding Wall, Boulder Wall, Landscape Steps, Natural Stone/Paver Edging, Fire Pit).
  • Understand and delegate tasks to crew members, communicate expectations thoroughly, and review jobsite plans with Supervisors.
  • Direct progress of the project, assist in the installation of all projects, and ensure quality work in a professional manner.
  • Participate in in-office training and education; role applicable in both residential and commercial settings. Out of town travel may be required.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of experience operating construction or landscaping equipment.
  • Valid Driver's License (required).
  • MN DOT Medical Card (required or ability to obtain).
  • Ability to read and follow site plans, work orders, and instructions.
  • Physical capability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions and lift 50+ lbs.
  • Strong awareness of site safety and hazard prevention.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams or crews in a landscaping or construction environment.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise, manage, and participate in landscape projects from start to finish.
  • Manage a team of 1-3 members, jobsite progress, and material.
  • Document jobsite progress including materials, photos, equipment, etc.
  • Ensure the successful installation of garden beds, plantings, sod, seed, artificial turf, drainage, pavers, retaining walls, Boulder walls, landscape steps, grading, etc.
  • Ensure and execute reasonable production schedules.
  • Understand and delegate tasks; provide direction and identify needs on a jobsite.
  • Ensure the performance of all responsibilities to company standards and communicate with supervisors and clients throughout projects.
  • Prepare and execute all necessary Change Orders promptly.
  • Operate and maintain landscaping equipment, including excavators, skid steers, loaders, tampers, and trenchers.
Job Type & Compensation
  • Full-time (Seasonal) 40+ hours/week
  • Salary: $26-30/hour
