Job Summary

As a Supervised Visitation Worker, you will provide supervision and guidance to non-custodial parents and children in a supervised visit setting. You will supervise the visit to ensure the child’s well-being, communicate visit restrictions and the contract agreement to the visiting parent(s) and observe, interpret and accurately record all client remarks during the visitation. You will role model and/or verbalize effective parenting techniques as necessary during the visitation and communicate with a program supervisor to address questions, concerns and information/messages from social workers.

You will be required to complete the required documentation and relay all mandated reporting and visit concerns to designated parties. In this position, you may be required to testify in court regarding visits.

Job Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent with a minimum of five years' experience dealing with youth issues such as physical and sexual abuse, neglect, and chemical dependency.
  • An associate's degree in social work, psychology, or a similar field and a minimum of two years' experience.
  • A bachelor's degree in social work, psychology, or a similar field and six months of experience preferred.
  • A valid driver's license, acceptable driving record, and a Motor Vehicle Check.
  • Successfully meet the requirements of a background check.
  • Communication, crisis intervention, and problem-solving skills.
  • Understanding of child protection issues.
  • Training or employment experience in physical abuse, sexual abuse, neglect, chemical dependency, mandated reporting and parenting skills desired. Training/experience may have been obtained in a volunteer setting, school field placement or through own parenting experiences.
