Mainframe Solution Architect

Overview

Mainframe Solution Architect as a member of the Enterprise Architecture Team with principal focus on IBM Mainframe Applications and Solutions.

• Translate business requirements into technical solutions for complex applications implemented on IBM Mainframe, including integrations with other platforms.
• Collaborate with Application Architects and MF development teams to implement solutions and transition them into production.
• Communicate architecture and Enterprise standards and best practices and ensure they are reflected in MF applications and integrations.
• Provide technical leadership across teams.
• Assist in transitioning MF workloads to other platforms such as Kubernetes as part of a larger Digital Transformation and Modernization effort.

• Excellent experience with IBM Mainframe and z/OS; knowledge of z/OSMF is a plus.
• Experience with Image Copy, reorg, load, and unload utilities is desirable.
• Direct experience with RACF and how it protects DB2 resources; experience with SERVAUTH is required.
• Experience with scalability and concurrent processing; experience working with large development teams and other Architects.
• Extensive experience programming in COBOL and CICS; proficient with DB2, especially SQL, indexes, and explain plans.
• Expert in navigating IBM Mainframe, developing MF applications using COBOL, Assembler, and JCL.
• Working understanding of z/OS Connect is highly valuable.
• Skills in Python or Java are a plus.
